Pecha Kucha ( Japanese trans. - ‘The Sound of Conversation’) offers a unique showcase of Creative Talent, as well as the opportunity for creatives to meet, mingle and present they’re ideas in a fun way. The focus is on CONTENT rather than profit, fostering authenticity and an open mind.

The international forum occurs across 230 countries world wide, and was the brainchild of Klien Dytham Architects (KDA) Tokyo in 2003. The cusp of the presentation is the format. Each participant must present their work using the same brief - “20 slides, 20 seconds each, for 6 minutes and 40 seconds of exposure”. ANYONE can present, and entry is free. The website compares each presentation to a “box of chocolates” (http://www.pecha-kucha.org/what). The entire show is scheduled to take just 90 minutes with no breaks.

The event is run monthly in it’s founded city of Tokyo – so the dye has certainly been tested on a massive scale. Queensland Creatives are invited to come along to the Brisbane Pecha Kucha and make the most of a fabulous opportunity!
