melbourne international comedy festival
If you, like millions of your peers, have spent every waking moment avidly scanning the newspapers and websites for jobs, you might well have missed the glaring red ads for this particular annual event. For shame! Fortunately for you, we at Artisan are here to ensure that you take the time to do something that will make you smile. (Its what we do!)
With that in mind - The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is currently on featuring local and international talent making people giggle and guffaw at various venues across Melbourne.
There are a series of special events planned, including ‘Good News Week’ live at Melbourne Town Hall (18th April) and ‘Flickin’ Funny Friday’ – featuring the funniest clips from Tropfest, as well as a multitude of other shows including - stand-up comedy, cabaret, theatre, street performance, film, television, radio and visual arts. Most tickets hover around the $25 mark and can be booked in advance or often bought at the door.
Looking for some FREE fun? They have that too! Check out ‘The Big Laugh Out @ Fed Square’ – this is a family-friendly show folks, so if perverse humour is your thing maybe give it a miss. Showcasing acts of gob-smacking and often acrobatic nature it will feature - The Boy With The Tape On His Face as well as the Robotic Petting Zoo!
In this time of doom and gloom what we all really need is, well, booze....but after that we all really need a good belly laugh!!! No excuses, with free and low-budget shows on offer, do yourself a favour – be happy!! :)
