and so it goes...
The Helen Gory Galerie is currently exhibiting Laith McGregor’s drawings which have been inspired by his past.
McGregor’s work blurs the boundaries between portraiture, memory and imagination. Notions of the unconscious mind are introduced and investigated and the certainty of memory is challenged and unravelled.
Laith McGregor won the prestigious Robert Jacks Drawing Prize in 2008 for his self-portrait in biro. Laith’s choice of biro, which is an everyday medium is not usually associated with fine art.
