melbourne international film festival 2010
July 22, 2010
One of Melbourne’s iconic events is back again for another entertaining year. The Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) is presenting films from over 50 countries through out the 17 days, that’s plenty of time to snuggle into a cinema seat and escape from the Melbourne Winter outside.
From Thursday 22 July through to Sunday 8 August there is something for everyone. There are a number of ways to find out whats on; check out the website melbournefilmfestival.com.au, or pick up a festival guide and put post-its throughout so you know what you want to see. My personal favourite is the iPhone app which is now released. Download this and you can browse and book sessions, the best part is being able to present your iPhone at the door with the ticket right on the screen.
In addition to screening films from around 50 countries, MIFF is Australia's largest showcase of new Australian cinema and a vocal champion of both emerging and established local filmmaking talent.
So if you are a film buff, enthusiast or dedicated movie goer then maybe a MIFF membership is a good option for you. Priority access to venues, ticket discounts and preview screenings are a good enough reason to join.
