I'm the first to admit that i'm a sucker for a well crafted compilation that combines both a retrospective and anthem theme. Bar Anthems successfully does that in a couple of ways. Firstly, the three discs are themed perfectly; disc one is Soul Anthems containing tracks like Kings Of Tomorrow's 'Finally' and Jon Cutler's 'It's Yours'. Disc two is titled Disco Anthems, containing tracks like Moloko's 'Sing It Back', Masters At Work's 'To Be In Love' and Angie Stones 'I Wish I Didn't Miss You Anymore'. Whilst disc three is titled Future Anthems, featuring tracks like Funkerman's 'Speed Up' and Groove Armada's 'Love Sweet Sound'. It's unashamably fun and aimed at just making you feel good, where it truly succeeds.
