At the start of the decade, you could not get much cooler in the alternative rock scene that The Vines. Not only did they dominate their Australian homeland but they also managed to create a rather big buzz in the US and UK charts as well. Fuelled by hits like 'Outtathaway', they exploded globally in a mash of guitars, angst and some of the most stupidly pulled facial expressions seen on early morning music programs since Sid Vicious and Johnny Rotton. Although their fruit might be a little on the over ripe side nowadays, this best of compilation does manage to convey just why they did grab the worlds attention for their 15 minutes of fame.
