It is always a relief to discover a local dance act who seem to push the boundaries of their genre a little bit more than even some of their international contemporaries although that diversity is exactly what to expect on The Presets album, 'Apocalypso'. There are moments when 'Apocalypso' sounds like Talking Heads mashed together with 80's Depeche Mode and the results are unbelievably infectious. In fact, tracks like 'My People', which has achieved chart success could even pass as an off shoot from Depeche Modes 'Some Great Reward' is style and structure. Even at their most commercial sounding ('If I Know You' and 'This Boy's In Love'), they still feel quirky and very refreshing.
