You have to love it when 'serious and credible' acts discover a little bit of a playful side, embrace an unexpected element and just become something greater all for it. Hello, Keane - meet my friend 'the 80's'... and a beautiful match was made. 'Perfect Symmetry' has some real classic 80's sounds running through the album while still keeping it very much planted in 2008. 'Spiralling' opens the album with a cheesy, queasy synth riff running through the chorus before leading into the first single off the album, the almost near perfect 'The Lovers Are Losing'. Then it just keeps going from strength to strength with tracks like 'Better Than This', 'Again And Again' and the title track 'Perfect Symmetry'. There is a limited edition bonus DVD version floating around that has a doco or two as well as demos of each of the tracks which is well worth hunting down if you're a bit of a die-hard fan.
