lady gaga - the monster ball tour

Lady Gaga mania has swept the nation recently as the young pop starlet rammed her massive 'Monster Ball Tour' into town. Not since Madonna famously rode on a bed to 'Like a Virgin' has a tour caused so much comment and controversy however it seems entirely apt as many can safely say that Lady Gaga has stolen the title of Queen of Pop from Madonna when she wasn't looking. And why not? In the same way that Madonna built a brand empire, Lady Gaga has constantly changed her look, her sound and created an experience each and every time. 'The Monster Ball' can best be described as a mish mash of influences, everything from Alice Cooper to Grace Jones to Rocky Horror to Elton John to the Wiggles to the L'Oreal Fashion Festival is all finely sliced and diced into a show that is part psychedelic and part pure pop phenomena. She delivers all of the hits in fine fashion, such as 'Just Dance', 'Poker Face', 'Paparazzi', 'Telephone', saving her anthem 'Bad Romance' until very last. Along the way, she throws in some great album tracks ('Monster', 'Teeth', 'Speechless') and offers the concert goer something that they were bound to never expect. For someone who has only just turned 24 and to have achieved what she has in such a short amount of time, the future looks insanely bright for Lady Gaga.
