kd lang - recollection (warner)

I remember the first time I saw Kd Lang live. It was on the 'All You Can Eat' tour, an album that had taken me a while to "get" but then when I did, I couldn't stop playing it. Working in the music industry at the time, my Warner rep had kindly given me a couple of tickets to go and see the lady live in at the Palais Theatre in St Kilda. I took my best lesbian friend (as you do) and we agreed in advance that, should the concert be "too country", we would kindly excuse ourselves and head home. When we realised that we were six rows from the front, with die hard fans trapping us in on either side, we hoped that she better be good. We weren't disappointed.
Six songs into the set, she performed her rendition of Roy Orbinson's 'Crying'. Goosebumps stood up on my arms. At the end of the song, there was a standing ovation. I later discovered that this was a common occurrence. Thus began my love affair with Kd Lang.
'Recollection' is the first 'best of' for Kd Lang and includes many of her classics including 'Constant Craving', 'Summerfling' and 'Hallelujah'. Various versions do exist out there for those keen for either a 2CD set or something more detailed.
