If you've not heard of these guys, you would be forgiven. In fact, up until Monday night, I hadn't heard of Kids of 88 either. That is until they were support for Scissor Sisters. Now, being a support act is a hard gig for anyone because you have to put up with massive indifference verging on annoyance as people impatiently wait for their favourite act to hit the stage however this NZ duo (with two additional on stage friends) managed to get a bit of a groove going, at least with this punter. I made a mental note at the time to check them out later on and found that only one single, 'My House' is available on iTunes. Best way to describe them; a young couple of kids who have grown up on indie-alternative dance with a good dose of The Primal Scream thrown in for good measure although I'm sure many people will find 'My House' verging more on pop than anything else. Make sure you check them out though - they've got a good energy live and it makes you feel good to support the youth of today!
