After the local success of 'The Fear', it's great to see UK songstress Lily Allen sit atop of the ARIA Albums Chart with her new album 'It's Not Me, It's You'. Although the most common criticism about Lily Allen is that her vocal delivery always tends to be a little samey, the real highlight of the album has to be the arrangements of the tracks which frequently leap at you in all their sonic goodness. Having said that, 'It's Not Me, It's You' is certainly a lot darked than her previous album 'Alright, Still...' although a lot of this has to do with the fact that the grim tales were delivered with a deceptive smile on the last album ('Alfie' being a great example here). Then there are moments where the album heads in a totally different direction; 'Not Fair' has a quirky country and western meets pop feel to it that will win over quite a few fans. All up, the album wears it's #1 position justifiably.
