royksopp - junior (wall of sound)
April 08, 2009
If there is one thing that Norway may not be recognized for, it would have to be their electronic music. However, ask anyone serious about their dance music and they should be able to give you a rave review for Royksopp. 'Junior' is the new album and already receiving rave reviews globally, and while there is still a fair amount of quirky dance, they've found a more solid dance groove with this album. Check out the awesome 'The Girl And The Robot' featuring the vocals of Robyn to get an indication of just how far dance this act has gone, taking some bassline inspiration clearly from the 70's. 'Vision One' with it's dirty, distorted acid house bassline just rips through the speaker system as well. It may not be a dance classic but this is going to be the dance album to get you through winter 2009.
