Melbourne Permanent Creative Web-Design Studio, Bendigo Design-Industry Typesetting Careers, Melbourne Perm Junior Multimedia Web-Developer Studio, Sydney Full-Time Junior Creative Art-Director Agency, Canberra Artisan Brand Recruitment

September 02, 2008

One of the saddest aspects of offering work to an international visitor is that you know you're inevitably going to have to say goodbye.

After five months with Artisan, our little Lottie from England is packing her bags and returning home, waving farewell to the Artisan reception desk. Prior to leaving, she asked if she could share a few words online with everyone about her time at Artisan and so, it is over to Charlotte...

"I arrived In Melbourne with the unsettling notion of having to find a job. Travelling for the previous 5 months had certainly taken its toll on my bank account and I knew that I had to do something about it.

I set about trying to find work but found it quite hard to find something that matched my skill set and that was interesting to me. I remember sitting in the city library searching job site by job site and feeling really un-motivated by the whole thing until I stumbled across an advert for a Receptionist for a Recruitment Agency based in Prahran. I had absolutely no idea where Prahran was and had never worked around recruitment but I thought ‘What the heck…I really like the sound of this so I will apply.’ I applied, two hours later got the call about an interview and three days later I arrived in Prahran ready to start my job.

I was pretty nervous when I came in, not knowing what to expect, whom I would meet, but as soon as I walked in the doors and got introduced to everyone I knew it was going to be good fun. There were so many names to learn and personalities to click with but it was a brilliant first day.

My first day turned into a week, then a month and now 5 months later I am getting ready to move on with the next part of my travels and I can honestly say it has been one of the best places I have worked and I am very sad to be leaving. This job has given me so many opportunities to meet some amazing people and make some extremely valuable contacts in the Design industry. I have made some life long friends in the people I have worked with and I hope to see the team again on my return to Oz.

If there is one thing I can say about Artisan is that they are a team of incredibly devoted people, who genuinely care about the work they do. They are constantly putting themselves out for others and striving to get the best for their candidates and clients. I want to say a massive thank you to the team for supporting me whilst working there both professionally and personally; as they all know, I can be a sensitive soul and being away from home sometimes made me slightly emotional ;-)

I feel lucky to have worked with them and will miss them very much."
