With this year's theme being "Change by Design", Creatives are encouraged to ask big questions, and consider possibilities that will enhance the efficiency of living spaces as well as impact positively on our environment.

State of Design Festival is an initiative of the Victorian State Government in Australia and is the public face of the Design Victoria Strategy. The Festival has been an annual event since 2004, and aims to focus on the value Design and Innovation bring to our community.

More than 130,000 people are expected to experience one or more of the 75 events across the Festival’s four main programs:

Design Capital - Business Seminar Series
Design or Everyone - Public and Culture program
Design: Made: Trade - Industry program
Premier's Design Awards - Awards

It's worth doing a little research behind past years' festivals and gearing up for July's big week. Although Artisan will cover this closer to the time in greater depth, this year's State of Design Festival will occur between 14 - 25 July, throughout metropolitan Melbourne.
