The Edinburgh Castle
The Edinburgh Castle

Now I don’t know about you but when I’m going out for dinner I’m looking for an experience, not just a meal. Imagine my delight when I found a goldmine of a pub in an area of Brunswick that I thought was strictly reserved for variety stores and late night kebab shops. On the corner of Sydney Road and Albion Street lies The Edinburgh Castle.
With every bit the Brunswick vibe this Pub has everything you need. A great beer garden out the back with mismatched chairs and tables, a TV for those who want that chill out ‘at home’ feeling and my personal favourite – a ping pong table. Inside you’ll find great local artists playing regular gigs in the main bar and a huge dining room serving some of the best food I’ve had this year.
This would be the worst taste review ever if I did not go on to talk about the food. In one word – amazing. Ranging from bar snacks and tapas, to full meals; you absolutely cannot go wrong with your menu choice. Word on the street is the Monday night 'Kangaroo and Wine Special' is not to be missed. Being vegetarian I wouldn’t know, but I personally would have to recommend getting yourself the chick pea fritters and settling down with a bottle of the house Shiraz. That’s a meal to make your heart smile.
So grab your friends and head down for a Sunday afternoon session at The Edinburgh Castle, trust me, I know pubs and you wont be disappointed with this one.
